The Lender is responsible for cleaning. This ensures the garment is cleaned to the Lender’s own standards and requirements. Additionally, the lenders may add the price of dry cleaning into their rental fee to cover the costs. Because not every item needs to be dry cleaned, we can save on resources such as, time, water, and extra fees if the Lender remains responsible for washing the item as required.

We provide a Guarantee Policy that covers both unrepairable and repairable damage to your items. Read more about our policy here.

You must fill out a Claims Form within 72 hours after the end of your rental period. The form can be requested from hello@onethreadroad.com.au, with the subject line: CLAIMS FORM REQUEST.

If you do not fill in a claims form and a Lender does fill one out after your rental, the claim will be investigated further. If the claim is to be found valid, you, as the Customer / Renter, will be responsible for any costs to repair the damage or replace the item.

We do not provide posting labels.  We encourage users to rent items within their local areas in order to minimise carbon emissions.  

Recent studies that have examined the rental economy have analysed the environmental impact of a garment, and have determined that shipping an item back and forth can outweigh the benefits of rentals.   

It is up to the Lender, however, whether or not they’d like to offer shipping.  We do encourage sellers of pre-loved items to offer shipping.

One Thread Road doesn’t specifically facilitate this type of transaction, however it is possible to send the Lender a private message to make this request.

Once you purchase a rental on our site, you are bound to our Terms of Service, which includes our cancellation policy. We will not refund you if an item doesn’t fit.

One Thread Road takes 10% commission to run our platform and facilitate safe transactions between Lenders and Renters.

We also take another 10% for our Guarantee Policy, which should be added into the fee of the rental and paid for by the customer. We believe the policy is integral in the success of a rental marketplace, where Lenders and Renters alike feel secure and supported.

Yes!  You can now drop off your items at our base in Belmont North.  We will photograph and list your items for you, and deliver them back to you within 2-7 days. Contact us at hello@onethreadroad.com.au to arrange a drop-off time.
